Graeme Brady (OAM)

PRESIDENT

Graeme has been involved with Talbot Estate for approximately 13 years, a former councillor of the Rockhampton City Council and the Rockhampton Regional Council. He has been a volunteer for numerous organisations in the city for nearly 60 years and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2019 for his service to the community.

Damien Martin

Vice President

Damien is a practising solicitor who was born and raised in Central Queensland. He practises across a variety of areas, but has particular interests in property law, commercial law and succession law.

Damien joined the Talbot Estate Board in 2020 and was elected Vice President in 2023. He is looking forward to continuing the legacy established by the founders and subsequent board members of the estate for many years to come.

Brad Keyworth

Secretary/Manager

Brad was a local business operator for over 30 years and has been involved with the local community since 1970, serving as a volunteer with various organisations and joined the committee of the Rockhampton and District Pensioners Social and Welfare Society now Talbot Estate Inc in 2010.

In 2013, he was elected as secretary and appointed in a part-time role as manager of Talbot Estate Inc in January 2017.

Mrs Lorraine Thornton

Treasurer

Lorraine has lived in Rockhampton for most of her life working in community organisations and furthering self-development through the attainment of two masters degrees from CQU whilst working full-time as CEO of the Rockhampton Enterprise Centre Inc.

Currently she holds the position of Treasurer on the Board of Talbot Estate Inc and has been involved with the Organisation since 2013.

Mr Jeff Brett

Board Manager

Jeff a local business operator in the health industry has been involved in community organisations for over 25 years and is currently on the Board of Talbot Estate Inc.

He is also heavily involved in amateur radio providing emergency communications to the nursing homes in the region during natural disasters.

Mr Jeff Krause

Board Member

Jeff has lived and worked in Central Queensland all of his life and enjoyed a career in education and corporate administration in the State Education system managing regional and statewide education and infrastructure programs.

Since then, Jeff has held positions in the natural resource management sector including Executive Officer with Capricornia Catchments Inc and management positions with Fitzroy Basin Association as well as being strongly involved in local community and sporting clubs. Jeff is on the Board of Directors with Frenchville Sports Club, Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre Parents & Citizens Association and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Graham Ivers

Board Member

Graham worked in the electricity industry from office boy to Management Accountant, Systems Development Officer, EDP Supervisor and Information System Manager. He was responsible for designing a database for the electricity industry which won a world award and was a consultant for the installation of an accounting system for SEQEB.

In 1990, he joined the staff of CQU as a lecturer and became Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law. Graham is now retired and acts as a lay preacher in his church.

Meegan Armstrong

Board Member

Meegan commitment to her community is evident in her more than 35 years of residence in Rockhampton, where she has lived with her husband and raised her three children. Meegan had an impressive 21-year tenure in local government, contributing her expertise to both Rockhampton Regional and Livingstone Shire Councils.

Meegan successfully managed the Rockhampton Showgrounds, demonstrating her proficiency in venue operations. Beyond local government, is the involvement as a director of the Frenchville Sports Club for an impressive 16 years reflects her dedication to community organizations. Currently serving as the Business and Sports Development Manager of the Frenchville Sports Club, Meegan continues to contribute significantly to the local community’s growth and development.
